Prompt:
Design a queue-less user experience system for IKEA retail stores.


Objective:
Reimagine the in-store experience by eliminating or minimizing the need for physical queues (e.g., for checkout, product pickup, or customer service). Your solution should enhance convenience and reduce wait times while maintaining IKEA’s brand values and operational flow.


Considerations:

  • Different stages of the customer journey (browsing, purchasing, pickup, returns, etc.)

  • Integration with IKEA’s existing digital tools (e.g., app, kiosks, self-checkout)

  • In-store navigation and communication

  • Accessibility and inclusivity

  • Scalability for different store sizes and regions


Deliverables:

  • User flow diagrams or journey maps

  • Wireframes or mockups of key touchpoints

  • Explanation of design rationale and how it addresses pain points

  • Potential technical or logistical challenges and how to solve them


Bonus:

  • Ideas for how the system could integrate personalization or AI

  • A way to measure the success of your queue-less system
