Design Mobile App Feature for Accessing Government Benefits and Schemes
Brief
Imagine you’ve joined our design team at a fintech company focused on making financial services accessible to everyone, including rural India. Many people in rural areas miss out on government benefits and welfare schemes simply because they don’t know they exist or find the application process confusing.
Your task:
Design a feature in our mobile app that helps users from rural India discover and access government benefits and schemes relevant to them in a simple, personalized, and easy-to-understand way. This is your opportunity to solve a real-world problem and create a meaningful impact by empowering users with the right information and tools.
The feature should:
Educate users on the importance and benefits of government schemes (like subsidies, health programs, and financial aid)
Help users discover schemes based on their profile (like occupation, income level, and location)
Simplify the process of understanding eligibility and applying for these schemes
Provide clear next steps and track application status
Deliverables:
User Flow: A simple diagram showing the steps a user will take from start to finish
Wireframes: Low-fidelity sketches of key screens (3–5 screens)
Visual Design: High-fidelity design of at least one key screen (optional but encouraged)
Design Rationale: A short write-up (max 1 page) explaining your design decisions and how they address user needs
